Grant Beckwith

Grant Beckwith started playing violin at age 5 in Charleston, West Virginia, and continued his studies through college. His teachers include Mary West, Bok Soo Kim, Hyo Kang, Charles Castleman, and Allen Ohmes. Grant is currently a first violinist in both the South Dakota Symphony and the Sioux City Symphony. During his college years, Grant served as a member of the first violin section of the Quad Cities and Cedar Rapids Symphonies as well as the University of Iowa Symphony Orchestra. In the past few years Grant has served as concertmaster of the Cherokee Symphony for several concerts. Grant played the Chausson Poeme with Lee Thorson and the Cherokee Symphony more than 20 years ago as a winner of the Cherokee Symphony Young Artist Competition. Grant graduated from the University of Iowa in 1992 with a B.A. in German, and a B.B.A. in Finance. He graduated with a J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1998.
