STUDENT AUDITIONS
FOR
"YOUNG ARTISTS" CONCERT

The Cherokee Symphony Orchestra will present its annual "Young Artists" concert on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at the Cherokee Community Center, Cherokee, Iowa, at 4:00 P.M.

Auditions will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2012, at the Cherokee Community Center, Cherokee, Iowa, beginning at 1:00 PM. Applications must be received no later than February 22, 2012.

AUDITION RULES

Auditions are open to all students through college who have not reached their 25th birthday.

Instrumentalists must perform on an accepted orchestral instrument, combinations of instruments, or piano. More than one movement may be performed up to a maximum time of 20 minutes.

Vocalists must sing an opera aria or concert selection with a published orchestra accompaniment. Vocalists may sing more than one aria to reach a minimum performance time of 10 minutes

Audition piece will be the one performed for the concert.

Selection shall be memorized by audition date. Students must furnish their own accompanist or may audition without accompanist.

Please bring a copy of your music for the judges.

Previous winners may audition again the second year after winning.

The Cherokee Symphony will make final arrangements and pay for the orchestral accompaniment, but we need the requested information to be sure we have the correct parts.
